Press keys and each one lights up on the on-screen keyboard. Keys that stay grey haven’t been tested yet or don’t work.

Nothing is uploaded or stored: the test only sees which keys you press while this page is open.
While the test area is active, even Tab, Space, arrows and F1–F12 are captured without scrolling or leaving the page.
Each working key turns green. Go row by row; keys that stay grey never sent a signal.
Hold several keys at once (for example W, A, S, D and Shift) and watch the simultaneous counter to check ghosting and rollover.
Click Reset to clear everything and test again, for example after cleaning the keyboard.
The on-screen keyboard is a full-size ANSI layout with function keys, navigation cluster and numpad. The test reads the physical code of each key, so it works with any layout set in your OS (QWERTZ, AZERTY, Dvorak…): the key in a given position lights up in that same position. Keys that aren’t drawn, such as the extra ISO key or media keys, are listed under other keys detected.
If a key doesn’t light up, press it a few more times. A key that works only sometimes usually has dirt underneath or a worn switch; a key that never responds may have a damaged switch or trace. On laptops, also test with any external keyboard unplugged to rule out conflicts.
Ghosting is when a keyboard drops a key, or reports one you didn’t press, when several are held together. Rollover (6KRO, NKRO) is how many keys it can register at the same time. Cheap office keyboards often block at 2 or 3 keys in some combinations; gaming keyboards handle 6 or more.
To test it, hold combos you use in games, such as W + A + Shift + Space, and check the Max at once counter. If one key of a three-key combo doesn’t light up, you’ve found your keyboard’s limit.
Click the on-screen keyboard on this page and press each key. Working keys turn green and the counter shows how many you’ve tested.
Yes. The test uses each key’s physical position, so it works with UK, German, French and other layouts. Keys not on the ANSI drawing appear in the other keys list.
Ghosting is when a keyboard misses a key, or registers one you didn’t press, while several keys are held. Hold key combinations and see whether they all light up.
Hold down as many keys as you can and read the Max at once counter. That is your keyboard’s rollover for that combination.
Fn is handled inside the keyboard and never reaches the browser. The Windows/Command key may be caught by the operating system first. Neither means the key is broken.
No. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere. The page only shows which keys were pressed while it is open.
