Monday to Friday minus federal holidays on their actual date. State holidays and observed days off are not included.
Choose a start date and an end date. The calculator opens with the current month filled in, and both days are counted.
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are excluded by default. Untick an option if your schedule is different.
You see the total working days, calendar days, weekend days and a list of the holidays that fall in the period, with their weekday.
In "Add business days", enter a start date and a number of business days to see the date the deadline falls on.
A working (business) day is a weekday, Monday to Friday, that is not a public holiday. For the United States the calculator uses the federal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Holidays are counted on their actual date. When a fixed holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, many employers give the Friday or Monday off instead; that observed day is not subtracted automatically, so take one more day off the result if it applies to you. State holidays are not included either.
For deadlines, the start day is usually excluded and counting begins on the next business day. The "Add business days" tab follows that rule: 5 business days from a Friday lands on the following Friday, and any holiday on the way is skipped and listed.
Use it for shipping estimates ("5–7 business days"), bank transfers, notice periods, payment terms and project planning.
The table on this page shows how many working days each month of the year has, with public holidays already subtracted. It helps with monthly targets, hours budgets (working days × 8 hours) and billing by the day.
Enter the start and end dates. The calculator counts Monday to Friday in the period, including both ends, and subtracts public holidays that fall on weekdays.
Usually around 250–252 in the United States once weekends and the 11 federal holidays are removed. The exact number for this year and next year is shown on this page.
Between 19 and 23, depending on weekends and holidays. See the per-month table on this page or choose the first and last day of the month in the calculator.
In "Add business days", choose the start date and type 10. Counting starts the next day, skips weekends and holidays and shows the final date.
No, only national (federal) holidays. If a state or local holiday falls in your period, subtract it from the result.
